Resilience, Courage, Voices, and the People Are Speaking
This will be the year that lasted a decade. This will be the year of no return. I am learning that what I know is not enough and what I want is change. For us all. Acceptance and complicity is not what will make this world different. Recognizing the people who look different from you, learn the stories of pain, loss, courage. When this happens WE ALL RISE. Compassion, righteous indignation, rage and calling out the darkness will bring us light. This disease has placed all of us at the same level as humans: vulnerable, flesh, heart, mind, thought. Racism. The world economics has placed all of us at the same level: struggling, hoping, hungry, scared, angry and helpless. We are leveled and now we people can see each other, perhaps for the first time. Amazing it took so long. Then there’s Covid 19 to level the humans on this planet. Lots to take in.
Be strong, share your knowledge, your food, your work tools to make the next steps meaningful because we can never cross the river twice in the same place. Women have always had to work harder to make things different and safe, trying to build lives on resilience and inequities, A shift has happened and the shift is mighty, now everyone on the planet can see the complacency, the corruption, the ignorance, the violence, the greed. No time for a blind eye.
To all the people who read these thoughts, I thank you, hoping you are safe and well. As a black woman in the 21st century, this revolution is something I thought should happen and now it has. Make wise choices, learn about the people around you and get busy helping your communities make these changes: the way we are governed, our police systems in the counties we live in, make those people accountable for their actions. Let your local, state and national people know, Enough was Enough long long ago.
My notes have always been hopeful, this is a plea for hope, change and the strength to make it so.
Peace and Love,
Denise
