Sometimes March Doesn't Roar, It Sometimes Just Hollers!

HAPPY WOMEN’S HERSTORY MONTH!

Happy to be landing into the next phase, the new work. I’m in a colorful mood these days, the weather, the cold mornings set up, and the buds on the trees, Pitchers and Catchers and Spring Training. Signs of new beginnings. One year ago we didn’t know what we would be going through. I feel lucky to be here now.

The new projects are fluid, larger sculptures in many colors and a scheme of cool colors for earrings this Spring, launching on the 20th. Another video shoot is scheduled and loads of new kinetic sculptures for 2021 with some shifts in sizes and materials. This one just below, needs a name and I’m stumped. Please send me your ideas on this one. I can say it was the last in the newest series, 20” x 21”, small and colorful.

As each week goes by, I am busy planning the Spring: major gardening schedule both veggie and flowers, big new sculpture in the works, a large ginkgo tree and many more in process just now. Getting it all done before….wait for it….another knee surgery, meniscus be damned! Scheduling this for later after the garden plans are complete. More virtual shows are coming up, not ready for a regular show until more of the country has the vaccine, I’m half way there.

I love hearing from you, each time I write, a few friends write back. I’m just happy to know how you are and if you are doing as best as we can. Warmer weather, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, all those buds on the trees. “Spring can really hang you up the most.”-Betty Carter
