COVID-19, Be Safe My Friends!
Today I was reading some of my favorite places are closed for a few weeks: SFJazz, MOAD, and no NBA until next season. One of my favorite tattoo artists, Ipolani, of Ko Studio Art & Tatoo, has posted her statement on safety for her and her clients. (no, I don’t have any tattoos, but if I lose my mind and get one, she’s my gal!) This got me thinking about you and me.
Here’s my normal/proactive way to make you and me safe when you buy my jewelry in my WardWorksArt booth at the markets:
All earrings, necklaces and everything else are in cellophane bags, you can see the jewelry, untouched so we are all safe, and jewelry is ready for purchase. These cello bags can only be opened after purchase by you. This was a great wake up call about safety and will remain in place going forward. The same goes for the shipping packages of jewelry art to you. I clean all ear wires and the clip-ons in alcohol after purchasing, and just before attaching to the finished earrings to new earring cards. Metals are always alcohol cleaned as one of my vendors is a bit sloppy with fingerprints on the sheet metal.
I’m using gloves dealing with money at the market, encouraging you to use credit cards, most have chips that do not need inserting, just hover above the card reader. Your signature will be needed for purchases over $100.00 only!
My recommendation is think before you leave home. The supplies for hand cleaners and gloves are in shortage, bring your own. I’m using dish gloves I can clean with soap and alcohol. Eat loads of local honey, at LBC Farmers Market, Hector’s is the best! Honey is both antiviral and antibacterial. We are keeping busy and vigil. You stay safe as well!
When shopping at farmers markets you are: supporting the local economy, the best food producers and it is open air, not a store. When shopping at farmers markets, the food it fresh, in season, and healthy. Since you wash your farm fresh produce, it will be cleaned in your skilled hands. Bring your own bags to carry home.
Be well my friends and family, this is serious no matter what they are reporting in the news.
Love to you, see you at the Markets~ Denise
